First Knitting Class

I attended my first knitting class today. I am learning to knit a scarf. I should have brought 2 sets on knitting needles. So I can practice casting on. I learned the Garter stitch. I did not buy a fancy expensive yarn to learn to knit just in case I did not like or could not pick up what I was learning. I am posting a pictures of my first attempt at a scarf. I tried to practice a few stitches when I got home tonight I hope I was doing the stitch right it looks okay but a few times I was not to sure I did the stitch correctly. I will not give up I plan to buy a set of wooden needles or maybe plastic shorter needle's than what I have now. My goal is to get this knitting thing so buy this fall I can learn to knit socks. I finally have the book I have been wanting to read A Deadly Yarn, by Maggie Sefton it is book 3 in her knitting series. I will read a few pages tonight, this means I will have to put down my book I am reading A Good Yarn, by Debbie Macomber hopefully I can extended the time I have to read the book so I can get A Deadly Yarn read and returned by the 25th. it is an inter library loan from Henderson Co. Public Library. I am really happy about the knitting class, Carol Threadgill teaches the class. She teaches knitting and sewing. She does alterations and she has a line of clothing for pets. I did not know she had a shop in downtown Asheboro it is called Gizzie's Pearl Palace Boutique , it is at 111 North St., Asheboro, NC 27203. Happy crocheting and knitting.
