Crochet time

Well I put in a lot of good crochet time last night. I worked on the Crochet Lace Shells pattern that my instructor gave me in my beginner crochet and gave my beginner's and intermediate classes on the first night of class. I really like the stitch and I wish I had tried it before now. Once you get started it is very easy and flows well. I am using red took a picture of my first few rows but you can't really tell how pretty it is because the web came does not show off the color of the yarn. Maybe one day I will get a good camera. I am ready for the weekend tomorrow I will really have to work hard because Friday I am taking a vacation day and I will need to get Thursday and Friday's cases processed by 4:30 tomorrow. So I don't think I will take a morning and maybe no afternoon break. Only one more class and my intermediate crochet instruction will be over I am not ready for the class to end I wish you got 6 classes instead of 4 but all good things must come to an end. If she offers another intermediate class at the first of the year I will sign up for the intermediate class again. I hope everything comes together for the for the crochet group at the beginning of the year it will be nice to meet new people and get help with new projects and be inspired to try new project by seeing other work from different people.

Crochet

I have 4 skeins of TLC Baby 7959 Giggle a very pretty variegated yarn, in very nice pastel pink, blue, green, and lavender they are 5 oz skeins. So I now have to find a nice afghan pattern for this yarn. I spent a little time last night looking through my pattern books and I will search on all the free pattern sites this weekend. Almost finished with the afghan I have been working on using the crazy stitch maybe 4 more rows and it should be large enough. The edging is what I need to come up with on end of the afghan will be shallop already because of the stitch, I hope my instructor will be able to help. I think I will be able to finish the afghan off by using row 1 of the stitch on the remaining 3 sides. I think I will have to ask my friends at either Crochetville or at my house or maybe both to see what everyone thinks. Also planning to get in some more reading tonight still trying to finish Tavis Smiley My Story of Growing Up in America As told to David Ritz What I know For Sure, as I have said before it is a very good read. I tells of his life as a child and his young adulthood. If you get the chance read this book.

Why?

I really can't think of a title for my post today. I really don't have much to post about I have very quickly this time hit another down spell and I have spent no time crocheting this weekend. I will force my self to do a little later on today, I must get back into the swing of things. I know that it really might not seem like it but I really love to crochet. Due to financial reason just can't buy enough yarn to make any real big project. So I daydream about the project I wish I could do. I belong to a forum at www.Crochetville.org and the ladies on this forum really do some very fine work and have a sorts of crochet-along's that I would love to join but I keep thinking you don't have enough yarn for that so why bother. I would like to join the giant granny square along but I want to use really bright colors and I don't have any yarn at the present time in really bright colors. I keep hoping someone in my family will give me a gift card to Hobby Lobby or A.C. Moore I like both store but would love the gift card to be from A.C. Moore they have Caron one pound yarn and some very bright colors.

Saturday and I plan to make chili

Well it has been almost a week since I have posted still have not finished my work on my page. I am beginning to think I should have kept the old blogger and not switched to beta. I can't figure out how to post pictures tried on my last post and I can't see the picture here at home but I can at work I don't know what that's all about maybe I did something wrong. I have been reading the book about Tavis Smiley's life it is a very good read, normally I am really can't get into nonfiction but I am really enjoying this book it show what a person can over come and do great things, of course it helps if you are born with a good brain that you can learn while you are in school. It makes all the difference I never was good in school no matter how hard I tried it was like the teacher stood in front of me speaking a foreign language so that is why I am in the place I am in now better off than a lot of people I am sure of that always someone in worst shape than you. Well the chili was a success my sister and her family came over to eat, my daughter's chili is packed and ready to go. I made a visit to A.C. Moore today to buy yarn I had a 40% and 50% off coupon so that made things easy and cheap. I brought 2 skein's of Caron Jumbo Prints Baby Rainbow Ombre 556 to finish an afghan I started a few weeks ago. I found a great buy at Hobby Lobby on Thursday right before my crochet class. 4 skein's on TLC Baby @ $1.79 and 6 skein's of Caron Cuddle Soft $ $.79 all on clearance.

Wet & Gloomy Sunday

Well I have not posted in awhile and I thought I would tell the happening of the past week. Nothing much happened the first part of the week just work. I did however start reading a book the first in about 2 or 3 months which it not like me not to read. Then on Thursday I finally got the chance to start my intermediate crochet class at my local Hobby Lobby and it was fun. I learned stitches that I should already know I am sure but I had not tried them before even though it has been almost a year since I learned to crochet. I practiced the front & back post, front & back loop, and increase & decrease so this means I will be able to progress to different patterns. I was not brave enough to do some of the patterns because I could not get the 2 dctog just did not make sense. The instructor also told me that a lady from a previous intermediate class wants to start a group to meet once a month to socialize and work on our projects, this sounds great to me. I have tried to find a group but the only group in my town met during the day and I work during the day. Then I brought Debbie Stoller's Stitch 'N bitch crochet the Happy Hooker and I found out that every since her first books on knitting that have been so hugely popular Stitch 'N Bitch groups have formed the largest I think in New York, well the closet group to me if it is still going is in Durham and that is 1 1/2 hours away to far to socialize and crochet. So this will be great if it gets started and works out only 5 minutes away. Yesterday I went to the homecoming game at my daughter's college and it was great they won the game 12 to 0, the band was awesome. My daughter made the cheer leading white team(aka: jv team) and they cheered the 2nd quarter. I think she did a great job of course and I could kick my self for not getting a camera. still no digital camera and if I had one it would do no good because for sometime now I have not been able to open the cd tray on my computer so I would not be able to down load the camera and get my pictures. As you can see things are looking a little wacky on my page because I was trying to change my background to something more crafty and it is still a work in progress. No crochet yesterday but I plan to work some tonight.

To lazy to crochet.

It's Sunday night and it has been a while since my last post. The reason for not posting that much is I am getting lazy and I do a lot of posting on yahoo 360, it's a nice place to post and it is easier to list friends and change the look of your page. I am at a stand still as far as crocheting this past week. I don't know what's wrong with me lately just no energy to do anything. I can't believe it has been so long since I read a book. I don't think I have read one since maybe April and I don't think I finished that book. I have to get past this blank time in my life. I think next week I am to start an intermediate crochet class at Hobby Lobby. I have to go by the store and check to see if the class will start on Thursday. I hope so I have so many questions to ask and a pattern I would like to start for a scarf if I can figure what to do the pattern instructions make no sense to me. I wish we had a stitch 'n bitch group in the area. As far a I know the closet one to me is Durham and I can't travel that far to crochet. The stress I am feeling on my job keep increasing with each passing day, so many clients and not enough time to get everything done, I guess I am going to have to give up and start working on Saturday's again. This really does no good all I do is collect comp time because we are not paid overtime no money in the budget for overtime and work but then I have to take time off which just does not make sense but I am going to the beach this Christmas first time I have been at the beach at Christmas time and the first time this year I did not get to go this summer maybe next summer. Well happy crocheting and knitting.

Friday, Friday , Friday

I am so happy that it is Friday, and I don't have to get up and go to work tomorrow. I am happy I have a job but I really wish I could win the lottery and never go back to work again. I have had a very busy week, Wednesday I went to see my daughter take part in a pageant for Ms Black and Gold she did not win but I think she is very brave to have participated in the event, last night I went with her to get a new relaxer and hair cut a short hair cut her first. This stemmed from getting a bad relaxer this summer and lose of hair. Hair is very important to teenager's. I did get in some very good crochet time while waiting for both events. I missed Grey's Anatomy I hope the show it again this weekend. This weekend I will have 3 project going. Project 1 an afghan made from the brick or crazy stitch made out of Caron Jumbo Prints Baby Rainbow Ombre 556, and the 2 Nd also made out of Baby Rainbow Ombre 556 Jamie's Baby Blanket and the 3 rd The Progressive Stitch Afghan in Lavender Pound of Love Lion Brand. I am posting a picture of the Brick stitch afghan. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Monday

Well it's Monday and it has been a week since my last post. I really did not have much going on last week as far as excitement goes, spent sometime working on the Beth's Little Star Afghan and now I am down to 3 1/2 rows, I hope to finish that up tonight while I watch the new season of Wife Swap, I really love that show it is always nice to see that there are people out in the world crazier than you. I like seeing how other people live. It was a long tough day at work, I did not think I would get all my cases process today, one of the systems we really depend on was not working well and Lot's of phone calls to many to answer and process cases. One day I hope we have enough workers so that we can give your client's all the attention the seem to need. I received the November issue of Crochet magazine today in the mail and I really like this issue I like all the issue's of the magazine. The back cover has a very pretty ripple throw made from Gypsy yarn from the N.Y yarns plan to visit the website to print the free pattern. Well I guess I should get ready to watch TV. Happy crochet and knitting.

Long, Long Monday

This weekend I missed a chance to go to a farm festival and see sheep and yarn products also knitting and crochet hooks. Noticed a picture in the paper after the fact and woman from Va was at the festival with her hand died yarn. The yarn looked amazing in the picture so I am sure in person it was great. I will mark this event on my calendar so may next year I can go. I have been searching the web tonight to see if I can find another festival, I need to start doing things like this maybe it will help my stress level to take a cheap day trip once a month or ever other month. We shall see what happens. North Carolina has to have something going on. This weekend while sitting under the hair dryer hair working on my Beth's Little Star Afghan I thought I was making real progress until I looked down and discovered a mistake at first I planned to ignore the mistake and I sat thinking and thinking but I could not make my self leave in the mistake, no one would have every know but me, I had to stop crocheting and Sat night I ripped out all 4 rows to correct my mistake really feel a lot better about correcting the mistake but no real progress on the afghan. I have 7 more rows to go, 1 blue and 6 green. Posting if I can a picture of my second Beth's Little Star Afghan it looks just like the first because I am using the same colors. This weekend I am starting another Beth's Little Star Afghan in 5 colors, yellow , pink, lavender, green and blue.

Humpday was no joke today!!!

I had a very, very long day at work. I took an extra day off work so today was my first day of work this week. I don't know what's going on in this city or this town but it is not blessed as far as I can see from where I sit, the reason I make this statement is because someone wrote an editorial in the paper last month that suggested the city of Asheboro was blessed this opinion was form because Asheboro is a dry city. A strange point point of view but everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I think if this city was so blessed I would not have so many cases in my caseload. I did a little crochet last night one row on the Beth's Little Star Afghan. Plan to add at least one row tonight. I wonder what people would think of my daydreams?, no I will not share them they are deep and very personal just wondering what people would think if I really went deep with my thoughts and daydream, they are not all about crochet. Let's say I have a lot better life than the one I am struggling through. What purpose am I serving what have I accomplished in my 42 years? None I fear! I feel that I no longer exist.

The Pretender

I have decided that I am going to become a pretender. I shall keep all my thoughts and opinions about myself to myself I am going to try my very best to never ever again let anyone know what my true feels are regarding anything in my life, I have found even with your family its best to stick to the basics and not go to far beyond talking about the weather. I guess I will start a journal I think I have a program on Microsoft that allows you to start a journal so that's is the place I will place my true feeling . Well today was not a bad day I did not work, yesterday was not half bad either I did not work the office was closed for Labor day, it rained and we had a family cookout. It has been almost a week and no crochet I cant seems to work myself up to crochet and I really love to crochet and find it relaxing but for some reason I have been to down to get up the energy for crochet. So I have spent some time looking a all my crochet magazines and books even though I know I can go to the Internet a find free patterns I love to buy the books and magazines. It is really enjoyable to look through the books and magazines and plan fantasy projects. Maybe tonight I will sit down and crochet.

Tuesday

Well its Tuesday it is the one year anniversary of Katrina a very sad day in American history. Sometimes I wonder what happens in a great Country like this when things don't seem to be getting done for all the people who have suffered and lost so much. How long does it take to get someone home restored and why don't insurance companies what to pay you after you pay them for soon long. I just don't understand. Well on to crochet I have the chain ready for my scarf and tonight I will start the first row. I hope I will get a real digital camera soon and post a picture . I will keep you informed.

Sunday Afternoon

Well it has been a while since my last post. I have been tired and slightly down. I have started another Beth's Little Star Afghan in the same colors as the one in previous posts. I don't think I will post a picture of this one since it will look just like the last. I finally made it to A C Moore yesterday I went with a friend. I brought the yarn for a project from Stitch ' N bitch crochet the Happy Hooker Denise Cozzitorto One-Skein Scarf the scarf in the book is green, I chose That's Pink Patons Classic Wool Merino, I love bright colors and if this scarf turns out great I plan to make another in bright blue. I would take a picture of the yarn I plan to use and post it but I made the sad mistake of buying another little cheap digital camera and downloaded it to my computer well it doesn't work as well as the first cheap camera I brought. So I uninstalled the camera and Tried to reinstall the first, that when the problems set in with my computer. I put the disk in and tried to install the camera it wouldn't install and so I had to uninstall and then tried to reinstall the camera but no luck and the disk would not come out of the computer for 3 days!!!! I pressed on the tray and the eject button but nothing happened. So finally on Friday night I pressed the button one more time and out pop the tray, now I am afraid to put the disk back in to try and install the camera.

MONDAY

Monday 4 more days to go before I have another weekend. Yes I am wishing my life away but I cant wait until Friday. I live for Friday's. So today was yet another long and stressful day. Tonight I will crochet hopefully it will relieve some of my tension. I have a lot of tension. No camera to download pictures and no money or time to buy YARN and I love and want YARN. What is a girl to do when your funds are low and you want to start project. Last night when I went to check out the happenings on crochetville. CrazieJillie84 made a beautiful blanket Babette Blanket it is wonderful she gives your progress reports from this project and a picture of the finished project. After viewing CrazieJillie84's blanket I felt the need to go online and order the magazine that has the pattern Interweavecrochet Spring2006 Issue. I hope it doesn't take to long to arrive. No pictures to post tonight. I have found the camera that I want to buy at walmart it has a zoom lens and its only $129.00 a very good price for a digital camera. I might ask if they still have lay-away. This weekend I plan to start another retangle afghan in red and black, it is a great color combination and my daughter's school colors. I think I will give the afghan to her friend. Daughter already has a red and black afghan I had a very good friend make one for her last year before I learned to crochet.

Maybe tomorrow I will go to a shop. Next month I need to get started on Christmas gifts. Well nothing much to say tonight, I think I will spend some time reading stitch 'N bitch crochet.

Thursday Night Again

Well its Thursday night and I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. I am tired and I wish I could win the lottery. I have not crocheted today maybe later tonight. I am working another star afghan in the same color as the picture I have already posted. That afghan broke in the middle so that means I have to make another. I don't know if I will post pictures because it will look like the pictures from previous post. One more long, long weekend at work and its the weekend. Well nothing much to say tonight I just felt like posting since it has been a few days since my last post.

Well the move is over

Well my daughter is back at school the move is over and I am tired and my feet hurt. I am now sitting in front of the computer and didn't spend a minute today crocheting and I think I am to tired to start any projects tonight. So I think I will wait until this weekend to start any projects. I really hate to go to work tomorrow. Well at least it's only 3 days this week.

A very busy Monday

Its Monday and it has been a very busy one and I didn't go to work. I have spent the day last minute shopping with my daughter at Costco. The day started off rocky packed the car with cans to take to recycle center to sale and my daughters car wouldn't start. So that meant a call to a auto shop and the car had to be towed. So then it was off in my car to Costco my favorite place to shop. Even though it has been a long time since I have been in Costco I really like shopping at Costco. I have notice that some of the prices have gone up but I guess it is because of gas prices. We did find some very good buys. I hope to go back soon it's time to renew my membership and this year my daughter is old enough to have a card so when I renew I will get a card in her name. My mother says we need to start going at least once month. I have finished my exchange items for the month and they are ready for the mail tomorrow. Tomorrow is move in day for my daughter at school. It is going to be a long day. We have to spend sometime in the financial aid office and the housing office she needs to change her meal plan. I wish I had taken Wednesday off work also but I didn't and it's off to work on Wednesday I am glad it will be a 3 day work week. I dread checking my voice mail. I am posting a picture of the things I am sending in my august exchanges.

Sunday Night Already

Well once again it's Sunday night and no work for me tomorrow I took Monday and Tuesday to get some last minute things done before my daughter goes back to college. Tuesday is move in day and I cant wait, I have enjoyed her but a 19 year old can be exhausting. I have spent the weekend getting my exchange items together I need to get them out in the mail on Tuesday. I have already received my dishcloth and granny square exchange. I received the granny squares from Joyce D and the dishcloths from Carrie C both women are great crocheters.

I finished the Beth's Star Afghan

Well yes I finished the afhgan and I was so happy and proud of my work. I will post a picture but after I finished weaving in all the ends and clipping a long end in the center the afghan pulled apart in the middle. I tried to repair the center and I feel that it will be good enough for home use but not to give to someone. I dont think I can rip it out and start over because it is two colors and not one so that just will not work. My daughter still wants to take it to the woman at her job, I told her she could if she wanted to but not to sale it to her just give it to her and tell her what happened. I wonder if fabric glue will help? I told her to tell the lady to put fabric glue on the middle of the afghan. So I hope this works and she can use the afghan. I plan to make another one as soon as I have finished my exchange items I start another. Maybe I will have better luck .
