Long weekend is over back to work tomorrow.

Well it's the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Oh well that's just the way it is when you live the life of a poor woman work, work, and more work. I did not get to shop on black Friday no funds I did however spend 1 hour walking the mall at the 1 am opening. I did find on Saturday the 2007 crochet pattern a day calendar made a trip to Costco and A C Moore. A C Moore had Patons Classic Wool Merino on sale for $3.87 regular price $5.67 I brought some of it to make a scarf for my sister and the rest just because I wanted to build my stash. They also have some beautiful 100% wool on discount for $6.67 that is around $11.00 something per skein regular price maybe they will still have some in a couple of weeks very pretty yarn but not a lot on the skeins and you would need several skeins to make a good scarf. I have not crochet since last Wednesday and I really need to get back to work on the dishcloths and potholders I plan to make for Christmas gifts. I need to move on to the scarf for my sister and I need a nice skull cap for a man for my brother in law and my nephew. I brought yarn to make my nieces scarfs also I plan to make the one skein scarf from Stitch N' bitch the happy hooker it is a quick scarf. I spent most of Friday,Saturday and today raking leaves and this was only the front and the sides of the house I still have the backyard left. Well at least it was a nice warm weekend and I did not have to rake in the cold, I can't say the same for next weekend when I start the back unless it's raining. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Have mercy it is Friday!!!! Thank You

Finally it is Friday. I thought I would scream and bang my head againist the wall of my office before the day came to an end today. I am thankful to have a job but thank you Lord I don't have to go to work tomorrow. We have to much work and to little time. I know I could work overtime but I don't get paid for it I get comp time which means if I want to take a day off I can and I will get paid, but if you take a day off you just get further behind and yes all of us need a day off every now and then but I have vacation time to take care of that and I hardly ever take time off from work. I need money and I wish we got paid for the overtime I could use the money and it would make the extra time at work worth it. December means overtime I am taking extra days for Christmas and I will have to work at least 2 Saturday's so that's what I will do I just hope we are able to get everything done. We need more workers. I really hate the fact that I don't know so many of my client's, when I first started to work at DSS I knew most of my clients and if they called me I did not need to look them up on the computer because I knew something about them now every client I talk too I have to look them up so I can help them it is sad. Thanksgiving is coming next week so this means just 3 days of work next week. No crochet today I did however make it to Hobby Lobby so this means only 2 skeins of yarn left to buy. I need to call Hobby Lobby in Greensboro to find out if they have the Butter color yarn I am looking for my local does not have that color. I have maybe 5 more rows and 1 of the crochet lace shells afghans I am making will be finished, and then I will need to finish the red crochet lace shells afghan I plan to make it a large afghan. My book did not arrive today maybe tomorrow. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Still working on my plan

Today was payday so after work I continued to work on my plan. I went to Hobby Lobby with my coupon and brought a skein of yarn #2615 Light Celery, so only 4 skeins to go I can get 3 skeins this week the 4th I will have to search for that one they don't have it at my local Hobby Lobby. It sounds like a road trip to Greensboro they have a Hobby Lobby and I can pay a visit to A C Moore received an email 50% off coupon!! and a craft fair going on Saturday. Still no book today oh well the did say it could take at least 10 days. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Well what can I say?

It is Tuesday night I am tired House is on and I don't know why I am here on this earth. No crochet today not yet anyway and I am not sure I will tonight. I had a long hard day at work and tomorrow I plan to buy a lottery ticket. My plans are to pay a visit to crochetville and then watch TV. I should crochet it is always soothing. I checked the mail when I got home today and still no book I guess it is going to take awhile I really want it to come soon. I already have a project picked out. I might do something that I should not and order the yarn that the designer used online for the pattern I am sure it will be my 2 months allowance for yarn money to get the yarn for the project. We shall see what happens. I might order the yarn for my sisters scarf at the end of November I think I am changing my mind about my scarf I am going to make I am thinking about the Surprise Me Striped Scarf from Hooked Scarves 20 Easy Crochet Projects, by Margaret Hubert the scarf is made from Kureyon by Noro 100% wool 3 skeins it is a self striping yarn and from the picture it makes a very pretty scarf. I am sure it is warm and my sister is very cold natured. We shall see what happens I can't remember the price of the yarn I will have to visit the site again to check the price. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Monday

I had a very long day and then came home and checked the mail no book so I will have to keep waiting. So far not a lot of crochet did just a little at my morning break but could not make myself do any crochet at lunch or my afternoon break. I need a miracle when it comes to my job I am thankful to have my job but I am tired of all the stress. I have to many clients and not enough time. So tonight when I am watching TV I hope to crochet most of the time I find it makes me feel better to crochet. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Another Crochet Lace Shells Afghan

I started another crochet lace shells afghan last night while I was watching TV instead of being good and finish up the 4 dishcloths that I have going at the moment. I am using the TLC Baby yarn that I brought on clearance at Hobby Lobby it is a sport weight 3 ply 64% Acrylic 36% Nylon I have 4 skeins and it might take all 4 to make a nice size afghan. It is a just because afghan and I am trying to build up items to try and sale at a craft fair if I can find one near me next fall may the fall festival in my daughters homecoming does not fall on the same weekend next year. I need to make sure it is okay to sale it was a free pattern so I guess it's okay, I don't want to do something that is illegal. There was a big talk on this about 2 months back at Crochetville they always keep up with all the important this on copyright laws. So I will go to Crochetville and check it out. I checked my email today and guess what another 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby this week, I really think they are trying to keep up with AC Moore because you did not get a 40% coupon from Hobby Lobby but once a month. AC Moore has one weekly. If wish I did not live so far away from AC Moore 30 miles and so I can't visit the store daily and get good use out of the coupon. I will visit this weekend coming up to get a skein of Patons Classic Merino Wool for the one skein scarf in the Happy Hooker crochet book. Planning a scarf for my sister for Christmas. Also planning to make scarf for my nieces and nephew. I think I am waiting to late for all the grand plans especially since I cant seem to get finished with the dishcloths and potholder for the family. Another long work week ahead and I know already it will be just as bad as the last one because the cases that need to be processed is very heavy next week, and it would be nice to come home on Monday to my new book I ordered last Getting Started Crochet by Judith L Swartz it is a great book looked through it at the library and decided to buy got a good deal on half.com already received a confirmation that the book was in the mail on Tuesday. So maybe tomorrow. Happy Crocheting and Knitting.

I need to win the lottery

I really wish I could win the lottery. Of course you have to buy tickets to win and I don't buy them that often, no money not even a dollar. I only got the chance to buy 4 skeins of the TLC I am trying to get ran out of funds so I will have to wait until the next 40% off coupon and hope I have the money for the rest of my yarn. It is sad but true I can't afford to have a hobby. I feel like such a loser. Well enough of the pity party. I spent some time last night crocheting not much time but I did get a few rows done. Really can't seem to get in the mood to crochet or do anything these days. Well I have not spent anytime working on the dishcloths either I am such a bad person. I am running out of time to get the dishcloths and potholders done. Well happy crocheting and knitting.

Working on my plan

Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon this week it is a 40% off one regular price item. I started my plan on Monday to buy the yarn for the graphic granny afghan from the first issue of Crochet today! so far I have 2254 Persimmon, 2820 Robbin Egg, and 2919 Barn Red on hold and waiting for me to buy tomorrow is 2533 Dark Plum it was the last skein and the saleswoman found it behind another color she told me they did not plan to carry that color anymore so that was good luck. Hobby Lobby is on my way home from work so I am not wasting gas to go by everyday the regular price of the yarn is $2.97 and I paid with tax $1.90. So I know what my first project will be after Christmas it will take that long to complete my plan and have time to work on the afghan. Maybe while I am at the beach I plan to take my crochet. When I work on this project it will be the first time I have made an afghan that you have to stitch together, I have made a practice hexagon and it is easy and I think the hexagon's will work up quickly the stitching together is a different story we shall see what happens. Happy crocheting and knitting.

FRIDAY!!!!!

Okay it is Friday and I am so happy. 2 whole day that I don't have to answer the phone, smile or return any phone call thank you Lord!!!!! I hope to get in a lot of crochet time I need to get my dishcloths done. I have to spend so time on my Crochet Lace Afghan I just have too do this because I love the pattern it is easy and looks great. This dishcloth and potholder project might be to much for me to many dishcloths and potholders and not enough time for the projects I want to do, since my mother paid for the yarn and wanted me to do this I will have to make the dishcloths and potholders. I have to tell my mother that I will not do this again, I like making things but I just don't like feeling like I have to do something. Learning to crochet was suppose to be something I did because I wanted too. Oh well what can I do now I should have just said no. I guess when she noticed that I was in a group that did exchanges that I would not mine the work but I really do. I am posting a picture of a dishcloth that I am almost finished working on. Happy Crocheting and Knitting.

HUMPDAY !!!!!!!

Well I started another dishcloth last night and I did not drink that extra glass of wine so all went well with the start of this dishcloth so I have 5 dishcloths complete and # 7 started and #6 almost complete #6 needs the edging done. I might not put the edging on the dishcloth I think it looks pretty good without the edging but when you look at the picture of the dishcloth the edging really does set off the look of the dishcloth. The dishcloth I am working on now is from The Big Book of Dishcloths # 33 I will need to read the pattern very carefully while working this pattern. I will post a picture of the dishcloth when it's finished. I am posting tonight a picture of #6 so you can see what it looks like without the edging. I am glad I have at least a month to finish this Christmas project because things are moving slow but I will continue to press on and get all of my projects done on time. Happy crocheting and knitting

WINE & CROCHET

Speaking from recent experience I can tell you that wine an crochet don't mix. I was working on a dishcloth last night and found that I could not keep up with my stitches, I had to rip out several rows so not much progress on the dishcloth. So today at my lunch break I fixed my mess from last night and now the dishcloth is looking good. So take it from me try to keep your wine drinking down while you are crocheting. Dishcloth#15 is a ripple and I am using a very pretty blue variegated cotton yarn. Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon this week and so today I brought The Big Book of Dishcloths regular price $7.99 so I used the coupon on the book it has 99 dishcloths I think I have enough patterns if the don't come out with some new designs to last for a long time. If and this is a big if I might make a dishcloth for the ladies in my department. This book has enough choices that I can do a diffrent one for each person.

More Dishcloths

Monday night and I need to work on dishcloths. I worked a FP,BP dc and now I need to do the edging. I read the pattern and asked a woman at work an still not sure I understand what they want me to do but tomorrow I plan to make a trip to Hobby Lobby and buy some white cotton yarn to do the edging I think that will set the dishcloth off and make it look really good. I will wait until this weekend to finish the dishcloth so that I can spend a little more time with the dishcloth pattern an figure out what the are taking about. I might have to ask some one at Crochetville or atmyhouse to see if they can help me. This free loop thing I really don't understand. I will start tonight on dishcloth #7 from the book not the number of dishcloths I have done. So I really need to start crocheting. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Dishcloths

I made one dishcloth today that I think looks more like a towel than a dishcloth. It is large and I don't think I will give it to anyone. I am starting another dishcloth tonight a FPdc and BPdc I hope it looks better than the one I made this afternoon. We shall see what happens. Well my idea to buy my next projects yarn with the 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby has been postponed, because the yarn I need for the project is on sale this week and you can't use the coupon of sale items only regular priced items. The sales price is not as cheap as the coupon price. Its okay I don't have time to do the project until after Christmas anyway. I am trying not to think about the fact that tomorrow is Monday and another long hard work week is coming. Happy crocheting and knitting.

A visit to A.C. Moore

Paid a visit to A.C. Moore today and brought more cotton yarn and a Leisure Arts crochet book dishcloths. I have 16 dishcloths to go and I don't want to use the same 2 patterns over and over so I now have 16 designs to choose from to finish my dishcloth project. I will start on another set tonight. We went to Costco today too and I really love the place but I can tell that prices are going up even in Costco, the last time I brought a 5 liter bottle of Olive Oil it was about $19.95 or so and now its $25.00 it is still a good price when you consider the fact that less than a liter can cost $6.95 and up in the grocery store. Still we brought some very nice Salmon fillets and Catfish. The next time I go I am going to get a leg of lamb, I really like lamb. I have kept to my promise and I have not worked on my Crochet Lace Shells Afghan or Crazy Stitch Afghan. The Crazy stitch is 95% finished and Crochet Lace Shells 50% but since they are not gifts I can finish them anytime. I hope Hobby Lobby has a 40% off any one item so that I can start buying the yarn for my next afghan project. The project I want to start calls for TLC Essentials 9 skeins by Coats & Clark this yarn at Hobby Lobby is $2.99 per skein so it would take 9 trips to the store, you can only use the coupon one time a day. This means that it will take 2 month's I think to get the yarn because I don't think Hobby Lobby runs the coupon but once a month. I wish it was 40% off you purchase price. I think they would sale a lot more if people could get 40% off the entire purchase. Well off to make another dishcloth. Happy Crocheting and Knitting.

Crochet Tonight

Thursday night and I went to my final crochet class, I really enjoyed the classes. I can't wait until next year to see how things go with the crochet group. I took a picture of the class and will post it later. I have finally found the two magazine's I was looking for and both of them of course have great projects that I wish I could start right now. I have one more dishcloth done so only 17 to go. I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday I really need the weekend. I finished a granny square tonight in class that I started months ago and I did not understand the 8th row, so I asked my instructor tonight and when she explained it to me it made sense and I was able to finish the square its just a practice square but it is a pretty square and I think it would make a nice afghan, by using it as the center and crocheting around it or making several square's an putting stitching them together. Happy Crocheting and Knitting.

Christmas in October Crochet

2 dishcloths done and 18 more to go and do you know what? I have spent the night on the computer checking my email and visiting www.crochetville.org one of my favorite places to visit I love to read the post and see all the beautiful work that all the ladies produce. I brought a new crochet book tonight at Books-A-Million Hooked Scarves 20 Easy Crochet Projects by Margaret Hubert while I should be asleep I will be looking through this book. I really need to be spending my time working on the 18 dishcloths I still have to crochet. I will do much better tomorrow I promise. I tried to figure out how to add buttons and links to my page but oh no I could not figure it out I am not the worlds best when it comes to blogs I wish it could be made easier. I would like to put a button for crochetville, and my page on 360, and likes to other blogs, and crochet pattern sites. I wish blogger would make it as easy as posting a picture I don't know how to get the right codes, and I don't know how to add counter, calendars, or clocks so I can't add any interest to my blog. Well happy Crocheting and Knitting everybody.

Rainy Sunday Afternoon

You know some day's I don't know why I try to do anything, I am going to have to start saving my post before I try and post a picture, I just lost my entire post and it was a long one and I really don't feel like typing all of that over again. So I will try an hit the highlights, I had my day's confused and last Thursday was not my last crochet class, I have one more class this Thursday and I plan to take a picture of the class on Thursday with the $7.95 35mm camera I brought at CVS I hope the pictures will be clearer I can have the developed and scan them onto my computer. It's the best I can do for now maybe one day I can buy a digital camera. A few month's ago I brought a leaflet on Ebay Broomstick Lace for the Little Folks by Boye a vintage leaflet that's how I lost my previous post trying to add a picture to show. I need someone to show my how to do the stitch can't figure it out from the instruction and the pictures in a crochet book I have just don't seem to help. I will try again to post the picture. I plan to make myself work on the dishcloths and potholder that my mother and I are giving for Christmas, I really wish I had not let her talk me into this, I like to crochet but I hate to feel like I have to do something but since she paid for the yarn I will have to do the gifts. This is the first and the last time. If I make anything again it will just be a random thing or maybe just maybe afghans. If I can start them at the first of the year and work on them all year long. I am making great progress on the Crochet Lace Shells Afghan I talked about in my previous post but no work on it today unless I have made at least 3 dishcloths.

Crochet time

Well I put in a lot of good crochet time last night. I worked on the Crochet Lace Shells pattern that my instructor gave me in my beginner crochet and gave my beginner's and intermediate classes on the first night of class. I really like the stitch and I wish I had tried it before now. Once you get started it is very easy and flows well. I am using red took a picture of my first few rows but you can't really tell how pretty it is because the web came does not show off the color of the yarn. Maybe one day I will get a good camera. I am ready for the weekend tomorrow I will really have to work hard because Friday I am taking a vacation day and I will need to get Thursday and Friday's cases processed by 4:30 tomorrow. So I don't think I will take a morning and maybe no afternoon break. Only one more class and my intermediate crochet instruction will be over I am not ready for the class to end I wish you got 6 classes instead of 4 but all good things must come to an end. If she offers another intermediate class at the first of the year I will sign up for the intermediate class again. I hope everything comes together for the for the crochet group at the beginning of the year it will be nice to meet new people and get help with new projects and be inspired to try new project by seeing other work from different people.

Crochet

I have 4 skeins of TLC Baby 7959 Giggle a very pretty variegated yarn, in very nice pastel pink, blue, green, and lavender they are 5 oz skeins. So I now have to find a nice afghan pattern for this yarn. I spent a little time last night looking through my pattern books and I will search on all the free pattern sites this weekend. Almost finished with the afghan I have been working on using the crazy stitch maybe 4 more rows and it should be large enough. The edging is what I need to come up with on end of the afghan will be shallop already because of the stitch, I hope my instructor will be able to help. I think I will be able to finish the afghan off by using row 1 of the stitch on the remaining 3 sides. I think I will have to ask my friends at either Crochetville or at my house or maybe both to see what everyone thinks. Also planning to get in some more reading tonight still trying to finish Tavis Smiley My Story of Growing Up in America As told to David Ritz What I know For Sure, as I have said before it is a very good read. I tells of his life as a child and his young adulthood. If you get the chance read this book.

Why?

I really can't think of a title for my post today. I really don't have much to post about I have very quickly this time hit another down spell and I have spent no time crocheting this weekend. I will force my self to do a little later on today, I must get back into the swing of things. I know that it really might not seem like it but I really love to crochet. Due to financial reason just can't buy enough yarn to make any real big project. So I daydream about the project I wish I could do. I belong to a forum at www.Crochetville.org and the ladies on this forum really do some very fine work and have a sorts of crochet-along's that I would love to join but I keep thinking you don't have enough yarn for that so why bother. I would like to join the giant granny square along but I want to use really bright colors and I don't have any yarn at the present time in really bright colors. I keep hoping someone in my family will give me a gift card to Hobby Lobby or A.C. Moore I like both store but would love the gift card to be from A.C. Moore they have Caron one pound yarn and some very bright colors.
