Pomp -a-Doodle
Well I had a great day today. Got up today and got ready to meet my daughter in Greensboro so that we could go to the movies. We went to the 1:05 showing of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows part 1. It was great and a lot darker than the rest. I think it followed the book in some places. You get a lot of information. Sometimes not the way you think you should and a few character's have been left out. The movie stopped at a very good spot. So sometime next summer part 2 and the end of Harry Potter will come. Paid a visit to Costco to pay the membership and could not leave without buying something. So I brought the Kirkland brand chicken stock. I wanted to try it since I read about it in the monthly magazine I receive. My daughter brought Frosted Mini Wheat's and bottled water and Honey Nut Cheerios. Only one same to try Lobster Spread we got there after 3:00. Then on to A C Moore I brought a skein of Red Heart Pomp-a-Doodle in Plush Plum. I want to knit the scarf. It is so cute it looks like tiny pom poms, when you knit the scarf. The only problem is I have tried to cast on and just can't get it right. I am not sure what I should do. Maybe go to YouTube and see if anyone has a helpful video. The scarf looks so cute. The on to Apple bees to eat. They have a great 2 for $20.00 deal and you get an appetizer and 2 entrees for $20.00. I really enjoyed the time I spent with my daughter. Even though she is only one hour away we don't get to spend that much time together. We both have full time jobs and she has friend's and a boyfriend. She has a great and busy life. I am so happy for her and very proud she works very hard. I did not cast on a dishcloth tonight but I did cast on a scarf. I will work a dishcloth tomorrow. I found both pattern's I plan to use tonight. The patterns are Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth and Feather and Fan Dishcloth. Very easy and quick patterns to knit. Happy crafting.

The cover for the latest book has a dog on it and it reminds me of ce ce my daughter's chihuahua. This weekend I plan to get started knitting dishcloths for my sister and my mother to give to their friends. Harry Potter Movie weekend. The stress level is up and not much on the crochet or knitting front.

My Fur Grandchild went home today
My fur grandchild went home today. I really enjoyed the week with Cece but it was a lot of work. Having a puppy around is a lot like having a toddler. You have to make sure you have everything they might eat off the floor! Get up early to take the puppy out to potty. So not much in the crochet or knitting world going on for me this week. I did make it to the gym one time this week. I spent 50 minutes on the treadmill. I will get better next week. I am paying $26.00 per month and I need to quit giving them free money if I don't go exercise. I will post a picture of Cece. Almost finished reading Getting To Happy, The Sequel to Waiting To Exhale, by Terry McMillan. I joined the November dishcloth swap on Ravelry and the battle of the next iron chef contest. Anyone out there watching Sister Wives? I love the show. It is very interesting.

BRIGHT AND SUNNY SUNDAY!!!
Today was a great day! The weather was wonderful no rain, it was not to hot or to cold. We had a great breeze. It was the perfect day for The Eight Annual Farm Fest at Rising Meadow Farm and Fall Open Farm Day at Goat Lady Dairy. If I did not have such a hard time with direction I would have made it to Rising Meadows before noon. This was not the fault to the Farm, I have a hard time with directions. How I realize all I need to do is go down North Fayetteville onto Old Liberty Rd and keep straight. The direction on mapquest did not help me at all. Rising Meadow was great this was my third trip and before you think it I know by now I should know the way but 3 times and 3 different ways I made it to the farm. Farm Fest was great music, food, and vendor. A lot of the vendors are from the North Carolina area and they yarn for sale wonderful yarn in great colors and it was great. I watched a lady spinning. It looked relaxing and hard at the same time. I got the change to pet a Llama, Angora Rabbit, and an alpaca. This time I did not pet it on the head and it was cool. Website: www.risingmeadow.com . After looking at all the vendor booths we went to Goat Lady Dairy, it is very pretty and this was my first visit. You should have seen the garden! Greens, Lettuce , Swiss Chard, Bok Choy, Collard, Turnips and Turnip greens. Chickens and last but not least Goats! Well along with goats they had goat cheese you could buy. I sampled the spreadable cheese. Basil and Garlic,Dill and Chives, Jalapeno, Triple Heat, Roasted Red Pepper, and Plain. All of it was great. I did not buy any today because funds are low in my house and did not have enough to get a container. However I plan to go to the farmer market next payday and get a container of the Jalapeno goat cheese. I was so proud of my niece because she tried the Jalapeno cheese. We did buy a pound of hot sausage from Brads Farm. It is located at 5231 Liberty Grove Rd Liberty NC 27298, contact information 336-622-5618 . The sausage was great! we tried a sample. Brad stated that he grows his own grain to feed his animals. They sale Pork, Chicken, and Beef. Until recently I did not realize how many local people sold vegetables and meat. I plan to start buying as much locally produce food as I can. I think it is better for you and it helps small farms and the local community. Also learned today that Goat Lady has started Goat Lady CSA( Community Supported Agriculture). If you live in the area you can find out more about this I am sure by visiting the website: www.goatladydairy.com and their is a meeting Tuesday, Nov. 16, 7 to 8:30 pm Starmount Presbyterian Church 3501 West Market St. Greensboro, NC. It sounds like a great program. I am thinking of going to the meeting. The price really is not that bad, for the food that you will receive. However my fiances are not the best at this time maybe I can got to the meeting an learn more about the program and be prepared to join next year. It is great to have fun for free. Posting a picture of the Llmana, Alpaca, Angora Rabbit, and Goats. No Knitting this weekend, I did read and add a few rows to my Lace Crochet Afghan.

National Alpaca Farm Day
ALPACA
Today is National Alpaca Farm Day! so we went to High Meadow Alpaca Farm at 2102 Spero Road Asheboro, NC 27203. Website www.ncalpacafarmofhighmeadow.com . I got the chance to get up close to an alpaca. They are very sweet and gentle animals . I did not get the chance to take a picture of myself with an alpaca because before the woman that owns the farm had the chance to tell me not to I patted the alpaca on the head and they do not like being patted on the head. It was so soft. The dog that protect them are massive and very sweet as long as you are with someone they know. I really wanted to buy some yarn but this is my off pay week and did not have the money for yarn. I think the yarn I looked at was from Raynay Alpaca Farm 1897 Ashland Road Ruffin, NC 27326 , www.raynayalpacas.com . She was very nice and friendly. She had a display of Hats and Scarfs for sell they were beautiful. The natural color of the yarn was beautiful too. I think they will be open again tomorrow but I am not totally sure. After leaving the farm I was not ready to go home. So we headed for the Farmer Market in Greensboro. It has been a few years since my last visit. It was fun and the market has great variety. I tried two sample of goat cheese spread. One from Kilby Family Farm , they can be reached @ kilbyfamilyfarms@yahoo.com facebook keyword Kilby Family Farms . Farm number 336-381-3669 and cell 336-301-1661 I tried the goat cheese spread with dill it was very good. Then I sampled a goat cheese spread from Goat Lady Dairy with fig and honey it was great also. Goat Lady Dairy has a Fall Open Farm Day Sunday , October 3, 2010 from 1-5 pm . website www.goatladydairy.com . Also on October 3, 2010 there is a Farm Fest at Rising Meadow Farm 11am - 4 pm. Both places will have items for sale. Bring a cooler if you want to buy meat. No Pets! . My niece brought a chocolate cookie from RVAEUS they specialize in Red Velvet Cakes & Different Cupcakes website coming soon. RVAEUS in on Facebook email Rvaeus@hotmail.com . My niece really liked the cookie and thought it was very good. We brought zucchini, squash, mushrooms, baby bok choy, and eggplant. It turned out to be a great Saturday outing. Came home to do a stir fry for dinner. We added mushrooms, squash, zucchini, red bell pepper, garlic, onion, shallot, shrimp, baby bok choy , also vermicelli (beans thread). Posting pictures of the alpaca, dog & stir fry.

KISS SWAP
I am participating in a swap over on Crochetville it is the KISS(keep it simple swap). It is the first swap I have participated in on Crochetville for some time. I am a very sorry and lazy person and could not work up the energy for a swap. The KISS swap is a dishcloth swap and the keep it simple part meant you send only one dishcloth and on extras. Well I came home today to a nice surprise. I received my dishcloth from my swap partner. Legalwoman17(her Crochetville name. I want to thank her again on this blog for a very pretty star shaped dishcloth in a nice bright color. Once again I have to say it was great to get something in the mail other than a bill. I have a nice long weekend coming and I am glad. I took Friday off our office is closed on Monday and I took off on Tuesday. Just because I be damned if I feel like going to work. I am thankful for my job but I need a break. The picture is of the dishcloth I received from my swap partner.

Working out again!
I finally made it back to the gym yesterday and today. I don't think I made it to the gym but once in July. I will have to start all over again. I walked the treadmill 45 minutes yesterday and today. I am reading a new book so the time did not pass by to slowly while I walked. I had to order the book through books-a-million. The book is by Isabel Sharpe, Knit in Comfort so far so good. While I should be working on my undone sock I have been knitting a scarf for a friend at work. I don't know why I can't make myself finish it? When I am working on it I really do enjoy myself and find it satisfying. It's just hard to make myself start again. I will! I will ! . I am determined to get them finished and posted on my blog and no ravelry before the end of the year. I am ready for another trip to Common Threads. They are offering a scarf work shop at the end of August a very pretty scarf with great yarn. I need to go this weekend to buy my yarn so that I can have it for the work shop. The workshop is between my paydays so this might be tricky.

What happen to the Weekend?
Well once again it is Sunday evening and of course it's work tomorrow. I have spent the weekend knitting Grandmother's Favorite dishcloth's and listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on cd, and visiting a few of my favorite site's on the Internet. So nothing much has gone on this weekend. One day I will win the lottery and my weekend's will get better.
