Another Long Day.

Well my day started almost as early today as it did on Friday. I got up and took my daughter's puppy out feed her and tried to take her out again. Then I made my way to my Aunt's house so all of us could go back to the hospital to see my Mother. She was released from the hospital but it took all day. She did not find out she could leave until around 2:00. So we did not get her to my Aunt's house until after 4: 00 it took them awhile to get the paperwork together. She will spend two nights at my Aunt's house because she has to go back to the hospital on Monday and both me and my Sister have to work. It looks like for the next few weeks I will do the cooking. So I am not sure how much time I will have for the gym. So I am sure it will be like starting over again with kettlebell class since I have missed the last two classes. My daughter picked up Cece today and I really miss the little furbaby! I am posting a picture of the dishcloth and postcard I received from my June swap partner on Ravelry, it is with the dishclothsrus group I belong too. Smorancie was my June swap partner. I plan to take my knitting with me when I visit my Mother tomorrow.

A Very Long Day

My Mother had to have surgery today, she's fine the surgery went well. The day was long because we had to be at the hospital by 6:45am and my Mother did not get taken into surgery until around 1:00pm it seems the Dr had an emergency. So it was after 4:00 before she was out of recovery and in her room. I hope she will be able to come home tomorrow. I did get a chance to read and knit a Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth while we waited. I think I could have finished more than one if I had knit the whole time and not read some of the book I brought with me. Still puppy sitting my daughter was on vacation all week and tomorrow she in a wedding of her best friend. My Aunt's friend liked the dishcloths I knit for my cousin when he brought his house and so I started today knitting some for her . I plan to knit a few Grandmother's Favorites and few Feather and Fan Dishcloths. I think 3 of each. I am not sure if I will get the chance to workout in the next couple of weeks, I don't want my Mother trying to cook until she recuperates from her surgery. Posting a picture of cuteness itself.

Bad News On My Sock Progess

Well I have been working on the gusset and I just realized today that somewhere along the way, I forgot to add my knit round. I continued the sock working only the decreasing round. So this is such a big screw up! I don't think I will ever get this pair of sock done. I really want to get this sock thing down! I brought another skein of sock yarn and really would like to continue! So I am determine not to give up ! I need another rescue me session. I think I need to make a trip to High Point this weekend. I know the sock needs ripping back so I can start the gusset over again, but I am not brave enough to do this all by myself. My crochet project is going better it is another Beth's Little Star Afghan. It is for my cousin's new baby due in August. I am not so sure on the color but I can't show until after the baby shower. I really need to spend a lot of time crocheting during the next week. The baby shower is next Saturday. I finally participated in a kettlebells class at the gym and I can really fell it! The class involves lots of squats!, and handling a weight. My weight was only 4 pounds. So now I realize just walking the treadmill, doing the elliptical, and the bike is not enough! I am so glad tomorrow is Friday!

Quiet Monday Evening

I am having a quiet Monday evening. My Daughter was here today and we cooked out on the grill in despite on the thunder storm and rain. The storm past quickly and we have a cover on our deck so the grill did not get wet. We grilled chicken and ribs, tried to do corn on the cob and asparagus. Cece was so excited to see Kendra that of course tinkled. I was afraid she would forget who she was but I was wrong. The cats are happy again now that the invader has gone. I miss Cece even though she kept me very busy. Puppies have a lot of energy. I have a few pictures to post of Cece. I could not get her to be still long enough to get a real good picture. My daughter was able to take a good one of her sleeping in her lap today.

Fur Baby Sitting

I have spent the weekend fur baby sitting. My daughter went to Raleigh this weekend and I am baby sitting her puppy . She has a lot of energy. I am just a little worried about her right now because she went in her travel cage and she's just sitting in the cage looking a little sad. She has spent most of her time here playing and running around so maybe she's just tired. So no knitting or crochet in the past week. I think I knit a few rows on my sock on last Sunday. I finished reading Left Over Dead, by Jimmie Ruth Evans. I have read all of the books so far in the series. My container tomato's are progressing and I am thinking of doing a few late plantings in a kiddie pool. It is something my supervisor read about on the internet and told us about last Thursday. What she told us was you get a plastic kiddie pool put a hole in it for drainage, add mulch, potting soil, and top soil. Then add your plants. My Lilies are in bloom.

This coop came with a sink. This coop looks like a real people could live in it. The Red Dress?

My Daughter and I went in search of a red dress today. This red dress had to have sleeves and had to fall at least to the knee if not below the knee. She joined one of the choir's at her church and the choir has it's anniversary tomorrow. So she needs to wear a red dress. The search began at Jcpenny's and continued on to Dillard's, Belks times 2, Macy's,Cato's K&G Fashion's Sear's, David's Bridals, Ross, Marshall's, and finally Hamricks. She found the dress at Hamrick's for only $12.oo dollars ! We had a great day. I stopped by A C Moore and Hobby Lobby. I found a set of size 3 knitting needles. I need to use the size 3's for baby washcloth's from Kris Knits. I brought the patterns on Ravelry. One of the pictures I am posting tonight is of Cece and all her cuteness, and the red dress.

Road Trip

Well I had a great day! Got up early this morning to meet up with some of the ladies from our department at work and we hit the road and went to hanging rock. The start to the trip was slightly confusing because Jenny is a spend demon and Priscilla and I got left behind. It was beautiful and I understand why Jenny my supervisor loves going up there so much. They have a camp ground and a lot of people were camping out this weekend end. The walk at the lake and the view of the lake was great. Our first stop was Dan River Family Restaurant it was a nice place the food was good and everyone was friendly. Then we went to Priddy's Store that was fun to and I enjoyed looking around , then off to the Dan River it is just beautiful. The waterfall was also very beautiful the walk down to the waterfall was pretty good, but going back up was rough. We spent a lot of time down by the waterfall. On the way back Priscilla and I went a different way so we could go through Lexington and we stopped by Childress Vineyards the place is well for lack of a better word beautiful. I brought two bottles of wine Classic Scupperdine Sweet Red Wine and Barrel Select 2006 Chardonnay. The we went to speedy's for dinner it was good to and I enjoyed my food. So no knitting or crocheting. I am not sure about the rest but I am ready for another road trip.

It's Tax Day!

So at lunchtime today I went to the post office and mailed off the dollar I owed the state of North Carolina!. I did not think they needed until you absolutely had to get the money. I am so sure this dollar will help bring down the states deficit. I just finished reading Flamingo Fatale, by Jimmie Ruth Evans A Trailer Park Mystery. It was great. I have requested the second book in the series through inter library loan at my local library. I plan to participate in the April dishcloth swap. I need to get the yarn my swap partner over on ravelry she likes red's so I need to find either a solid red cotton or variegated with a mix of color. I have the pattern picked out. We have a road trip planned on Saturday with some of the girls in our unit a work. I am excited about the trip and normally I am not the one to get together with coworker outside of work, but I think this will be fun and I plan to take my camera and I am sure we will have a good time. I am posting a picture of the second Beth's Little Star Afghan.
