Pretty good weekend.

Well this weekend did not turn out to bad. I spent Sat morning waiting for the cable guy to come and install ddr or drr whatever so I can record shows while I am at work. I finished reading The Friday Night Knitting Club, by Kate Jacobs it is a great read if you have not read this book already please visit your local library or bookstore and read this book! . Today I had a great afternoon with my Sister(Hope) and my Niece(Deja) we went to the open house at Rising Meadow Farm http://www.risingmeadow.com/ it is a great place to visit I brought a skein of yarn and I got the chance to see Llama and sheep. The Llama would walk right up to the fence but not the sheep. In September they have a farm fest and I plan to go to that event also. I added another 12 rows of green and 4 rows of green to the ripple afghan I am working on I think another 12 rows of green will do it as far as the Afghan goes and then add the tassels. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Knoby Yarn

What the heck is knobby yarn. I plan to take a knitting class in May and the supplies you need to bring to class are 3 skeins of knobby or eyelash yarn. I really don't like eyelash (sorry) so I plan to bring knobby that is if I can figure out what it knobby yarn means. I hope the instructor is still planning to have the May classes so far I am the only person who has signed up for the class. On Sunday I got started on my ripple afghan, I have added the blue and started again with the green and I think it looks great! I plan to do 4 rows of blue then another 12 green, 4 blue and finish with 12 green to make the number of rows in each color even the total afghan should only be 63"I don't care if it is longer that that because it is for my daughter and if it is longer than the pattern calls for she wont care the when I add the fringe I plan to use both blue and green mixed together instead of one blue tassel and one green. I have started buying the notions for my partner in the notions swap at crochetville. I have until the 15th of May to buy and I have to have the package in the mail by the 19th I will not reveal the Items I have purchased so far just in case someone from crochetville might visit my blog. I am reading a great book The Friday Night Knitting Club, by Kate Jacobs it is a great read I picked it up at Books-A-Million on Friday. Well I am off to a visit at crochetville and then spend some time reading. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Beautiful day.

Well spent a great day with my Mother, Aunt,Uncle, and cousin. First we went to Macy's and after buying out most of the cast iron cookware we went to AC Moore and I found the blue yarn I needed to complete the ripple afghan I started 2 weeks ago. Then we went to Costo I tried most of the food samples I had coupons so we can out of the store with some great buys. While I was shopping at AC Moore I brought some of the items I plan to send to my partner in the notions swap. I really enjoy the swaps the notions swap is very easy you can find most of the items for a very good price. It was a very warm sunny day. No crochet so far today I have spent some time reading, the book of choice The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacob so far a pretty good read. I am only 2 weeks away from a knitting class so far no one but me has signed up for the class I hope she will have the class. I have already purchased 2 knitting magazine's. Happy knitting and crocheting.

Windy, Windy Monday

Well I had a very unproductive weekend. I am not sure if it is a cold or allergies I did not feel well and then on Sat I got up early and went to Walmart first and then Hobby Lobby. Walmart did not have the Turqua (blue) red heart yarn I wanted to use in my ripple afghan. Then after finishing my shopping minus yarn. I went to Hobby Lobby they did not have the Turqua yarn either and the #80/Royal yarn which is a brand only sold by Hobby Lobby called I love this yarn! out of stock until the end of the week. So I came home after a trip to the library I watched DIY, PBS, and a few cooking shows took a nap. Sunday was the same I will add that I did look at some crochet and knitting magazines. It rained most of the day on and off. Day from hell at work but I am thankful to have a job and I wish to keep it so that I will not become homeless. I don't think I would be able to find another job. So I do what I am told and I try to smile through all the things that happen. Maybe this weekend I will go to Greensboro to get some red heart AC Moore having a sale on redheart. I received my partners name for the Notions Swap at crochetville I am looking forward to the swap it will be my second at crochetville. Happy crocheting and knitting.

UFO'S

I have so many unfinished projects. I am to lazy right now to finish the blushing grannies afghan so the squares are in a basket in my bedroom taunting me each time I pass by the basket. The shells afghan I ran out of royal blue yarn so that will have to wait until payday, and the ripple in spring green I decided to add another color turqua (bright blue) this has to wait until payday too because I thought I had 2 skeins of this color but I don't you hold 2 strands of yarn together for this afghan. I have a UFO scarf and 2 more afghan, I cant find the pattern for 1 and I need to take time to remember what row I stopped on for the other. I hear that we have a rainy weekend coming so maybe I will work on all UFO'S this weekend. Yesterday was the first meeting of for the crochet group no one but me and the instructor for the crochet classes showed up, but we both stayed and talked and worked of projects, I really enjoyed it I hope next month more people show up, we are planning to meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month. I am still the only person signed up for the May knitting class I hope this instructor still has the class and I can learn to knit. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Spring in NC

Well its spring in NC and of course most of my azaleas are in bloom and the lilac bush so what is happening tonight a freeze the temps are dropping into the 20's so this means my white azalea's will turn brown and there is nothing I can do. I am posting a picture of the flower arrangement my mother did out of some the the flowers from the yard. I spent most of the day in Greensboro with my mother and aunt looking for curtain's and we found some at Anna's Linens. I will hang the curtains tomorrow. I did a couple of rows on my shells afghan this morning before I went to Greensboro. I really would like to start the ripple but I don't have enough skeins of one color yarn to get started and finish the afghan so I don't want to start. Well pay day is coming and maybe I can buy the yarn for the ripple and the rest of the yarn for the shells afghan. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Rio De La Plata is the name on the tag I have never heard of this yarn the tag on the yarn states that the yarn sells for $13.50 per skein. I brought 4 skeins for $25.00 I did not think I would win it came as a surprise! . Today the living room dinning room area finally got the new flooring it looks great the guy comes back tomorrow to do the little hall way and kitchen it is amazing what a few changes can do to a house. The next thing is the roof. Pray for me I need a miracle I really need a roof. I want a metal roof. I think I will add a few rows to my Shells afghan. Spring!!!

Spring, I did not spend the weekend working on the blushing grannies afghan. I spent the weekend working in the yard. So this means I used muscles that I have not used in a long, long time! So today I feel like I have been hit by something large. I still went to walk today, I am trying to lose weight. I got in my 8 glasses of water that was horrible. I hate water. I started working a new afghan going pretty good but I did not work on it that much this weekend either. I am watching deal or no deal and this man has just turned down $173,000 ! I don't know whats wrong with these people. I think I would have to work over 10 years to earn that much money on my job. I don't think he needs the money that bad. Happy crocheting and knitting.

35 squares done.

Quick post square #35 done and now it's time to join the squares together. I read the pattern and I hope I can do this thing. It will be my first afghan that I have had to join together. I hope the long tails that I left on each square will be enough we shall see! then the edging. I think I will wait a while for the graphic granny from crochet today the first issue that I want to make and have all the yarn reading and waiting because you have to join together a lot of very small mofits. So on to what I hope is an easy project. I started an afghan tonight from Leisure Arts Quick Crochet Afghans Book 3 designs by Linda Lunder I am working #3 Shells afghan in royal blue it is an acrylic yarn the brand name I love this yarn super soft from Hobby Lobby, and it is very soft some acrylics are rough. I have to do acrylics because I have an acrylic budget. Single parent of adult child in college and I work for the County. I spent some time working in the yard today raking leaves and taking them to the edge of the yarn so that I can get ready the yard ready to plant flowers and the vegetable garden. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Square #35 on the hook!!

Okay I just lost my entire post and it was a long one. Well let's see if I can remember everything that I wrote the first time. I received my swap package in the mail today. It was great I participated in the Get Wild & Woolie Yarn Swap @ crochetville. It was a great package and my swap partner was great. I am posting a picture of what I received in the swap and in the March dish cloth exchange with atmyhouse group. I have deciced to learn how to knit I signed up for a class in May I hope I can do this not to sure. Knitting looks hard to needles and I don't know? when I see all the beautiful things that you can do with knitting I really want to knit. I have square #35 on the hook for the blushing grannies afghan I think I will wait until this weekend to try and start stitching the afghan together. Happy crocheting and knitting.

A quick Hello

Well it has been a week since my last post. So I thought I would drop in and say hello. I had a pretty good weekend. I got up yesterday mailed my partner in the Wild & Woolie yarn swap at crochetville her package. Then I went to A C Moore they had a yarn sale going yesterday an since I have an acrylic budget I brought some nice red heart super saver yarn. It was a nice yarn event with make and take projects and door prizes. I won a basket with 7 skeins of yarn. Very pleased about that because I never win anything. One day I hope to post a picture of my basket and the yarn that is if I can get my usb port back from my daughter. I let her use my camera so she could take picture at a pot luck dinner with the cheerleaders and she brought the camera back and the charger but not the usb port so no down loading pictures until I get the cord. I have started my blushing granny afghan from the Feb/Mar issue of Crochet today! 2 squares done 33 more to go. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Long time since my last post

Well it has been a long time since my last post. I have not crocheted I did start reading a book Playing My Mother's Blues, by Valerie Wilson Wesley. I like the book and I think if I put my mind to it I can get it read quickly. I am participating in the 50 book challenge hosted by a member of Crochetville. I have a crochet project picked out to start this weekend and it's also girls night out this weekend and we are trying to find somewhere to go that we have not been. I have my partner for the Wild and Woolie Swap at Crochetville so now the search begins for the perfect yarn to send and the extra. I received a great puffy from my dish cloth partner from atmyhouse@yahoo.com posting a picture. I am sure all Harry Potter fans know that the release date has been set for the 7th and final book in the series I can't wait. Friday I plan to visit Barnes&Noble to see if you can put name on the list for a book or if you will have to prepay. In the past you could just request a book at Books a Million you have to prepay to get a book that night. I will have to go to the last midnight party this will be my third party. I did not get started from the beginning with the parties or the books. Happy crocheting and knitting.

This is not the only group that will benefit from crochet and knit tonight. Well its back to work tomorrow and I really wish I did not have to go. Maybe one day I can win the lottery and never have to work again. I am thankful to have a job don't get it twisted I know that there are a lot of people who do not have jobs.

No Crochet again

It has been a week since my last post and over a week since I have crocheted. I am getting slack. I need to do a little crochet but sometime as much as I enjoy crochet it does not help my sometimes my job just sucks the life out of me and I don't want to do anything. I have hit that phase. I am breaking out of it this weekend maybe tomorrow if I wake up and I don't think I will be able to make it back home if I go to work we shall see what the weather hold. On Sunday I plan to participate in the Super Stitch Sunday crochet-a-long at crochetville it is a crochet for charity. I have never done this before and I thought it would be fun and I know that there are a lot of people that don't believe in charity crochet or knitting but the need for these items must be out there if people take the time to do these things. So I have the colors picked out for the squares and yes to all the acrylic haters out in the crochet and knit world that's what I will be using for the squares. Maybe one day soon I will be able to afford natural fibers and use them but for now I can't purchase really wool. It's the thought that counts and if you want to keep warm I really don't think you will turn down an afghan if it is not made from a natural fiber. Anyone who would like to visit crochetville you would be more than welcome visit at www.crochetville.org Happy crocheting and knitting.

Nothing much to say

I have not spent any time on the Loopy Ridges Scarf I will get back to it soon. I am trying to decide which granny squares I plan to crochet on super bowl Sunday. Crochetville has a crochet-a-long going for that Sunday, when you finish the squares you mail them to another lady from the group she will I think stitch squares together to be donated to charity. It is my first effort for charity and my first crochet-a-long I have participated in at the ville. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Loopy Ridges Scarf

It is a wet and cold Sunday. I hope I don't have any problems getting to work tomorrow. I dread going but you have to do what you have to do. I started working on a scarf early this morning a Loopy Ridges Scarf from Margaret Hubert's Hooked Scarves 20 Easy Crochet Projects, I am using Patons Classic wool Merino, the color Regency a very pretty variegated color. I am signed up to participate in my very first Crochetville swap WILD AND WOOLIE! you send your partner wool yarn and your partner sends you wool yarn you can add extras in with you swap so I am trying to think of what I can add and what type of wool to send. Each person that wants to participate in the swap has to fill out a survey telling what your favorite color is and what types of wool yarn you like I have never used any wool except Patons so I am open for anything. You would not believe how many different types of yarn are out in the fiber world. You can even buy soy yarns, just learned this recently. If any one cares to visit crochetville it is for both crocheter and knitters a great place where you can learn lots of things and talk about the project you have done and one you would like to do, very nice people. Go to www.crochetville.org Happy crocheting and knitting!!!

Skinny MInnie

I gave my Sister her Skinny Minnie Scarf today and she really liked the scarf. I forgot to take my camera and so I did not get to take a picture of her in the scarf. So Ginnerfra one of my daughters friends from school is modeling the scarf. I received my Wool-Ease yarn today 5 balls of Fuchsia 137, Soon and very soon I plan to start another scarf from Crochet Scarves! 16 Hip Projects for Dressing Up Your Look. by Candi Jensen the scarf is Blackberry Cobbler I think it is pretty and will make a very nice scarf. I hope the pattern is easy. I still have not heard any thing from the group that was to get started after the New Year I am disappointed I really would like to be a part of a group that meets to crochet and knit together. Well not much to report tonight. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Skinny MInnie Scarf almost complete

Skinny Minnie Scarf almost complete all I need to do is make and add the tassels. I will work on that tomorrow and maybe a little tonight. I had to take a break from the scarf and so I did 2 granny squares. I need to build my swap stash. I plan to start swapping again next month. It has been a great weekend and I don't have to go to work tomorrow. A trip to the beach would have been great this weekend. Nice and warm. I went to another game yesterday and watched my daughter cheer she does a very good job so does the whole team. I wish I could work the camera better but for some reason I can't get it to do right and all the pictures come out to dark it might be the gym it's red. I brought a new book yesterday I used my gift card for Books-A-Million Fabulous & Flirty Crochet, by Katherine Lee. I want to visit a store I discovered online while looking to see if anyone in the area sold GGH Aspen yarn and a yarn shop in Greensboro sales GGH yarns it is Stitch Point I plan to pay them a visit in February. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Skinny Minnie Scarf going well.

The Skinny Minnie Scarf is going well and tonight I plan to add a few more rows. I am fighting the urge to start a granny square until I finish the scarf, I can have no delays when it comes to this scarf my Sister's birthday is the 16th. So this is just a quick post. Long weekend ahead and I am glad. It means extra time to finish the scarf. Happy crocheting and knitting I hope all your project are going great.

Skinny Minnie Scarf underway

The Skinny Minnie Scarf I am making for my Sister is going well I have decided to do the scarf in 1 color Petal Pink Patons Classic Wool Merino. Using 1 color does not give the scarf the dramatic effect multiple colors would but I could not make up my mind if my Sister would like the scarf in more than 1 color. Skinny Minnie is a very long scarf the beginning chain is 449 and has 17 rows of SC. This is going to be a busy week because my Sisters birthday is the 16th so the push is on to finish the scarf by Monday. Monday is a holiday and the agency is closed so I can spend most of the day working on the scarf. Still not sure about the tassels. Oh well only 14 more rows to go. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Saturday night and all is well

I got up this morning to sign up for the Dinner at the Dairy hosted monthly at Goat Lady Dairy. I did not sign up because it cost a little to much for my budget, it is a 5 course meal and they serve lamb, beef, goat cheese of course it sounds great and I really like trying new foods. I just can't do $55.00 per person. So I have to come up with something else to do that I have not done before when it comes to adventure. Today my daughter cheered and I went to the game to see her cheer and to watch the game it was a good game but WSSU lost the game. Then it was off to buy my daughter food the meal plan she has only provides 9 meals a week and trips to the Ram Shack so this means she has to cook for herself sometime. Added to my yarn stash today with a trip to A C Moore brought yarn for an afghan and for the scarf I have planned to make for my sister's birthday. I will start the scarf tomorrow I think maybe tonight I don't know need to do a little reading tonight so I can finish up Needled to death. Happy crocheting and knitting.

First Friday Night 2007

I am so glad it's the weekend. It has been a long week and I only worked 4 days this week. Today I think I have finally figured out how to change my picture on my layout after I sent an email stating that I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. Oh well that's the way it goes I guess. I found out something very interesting today while looking in the phone book Caraway has an Alpaca Farm and you can visit, in May they have a special event Caraway Alpaca Spring Open Barn I visited the website www.carawayalpaca.com also sent an email about the event and if they send a newsletter or emails to remind you of special events. Another thing I discovered while looking in the phonebook was Goat Lady Dairy www.goatladydairy.com at this farm they host Dinner at the Dairy tomorrow is the first day for online sign up and I plan to get up so that I can sign up for Dinner at the Dairy, you can get a tour of the dairy also I don't think it is the same night as the dinner. Another place to visit Rising Meadow Farm www.risingmeadow.com also has special events and I emailed to find out if the public can attend a February if you don't want to participate in the shearing and just watch. I hope you can I have never been on a working farm of any kind and it would be nice to see a farm in action and to see where all the wonderful natural fibers so many people crochet and knit with get their start and maybe buy from a local who spins or dyes natural fibers. I hope I get a response soon. Last night I tried to start an afghan with Bernat Super Stripes yarn it is a self stripping yarn and I have a great pattern for a ripple afghan but the yarn is bulky and has a rough texture very hard to see your stitches and I think it will take more skill than I have at this time to make this afghan so I am putting off this project for now also tried a scarf pattern with the same yarn and that did not go well either. So now I am trying to come up with another big project. Tomorrow I plan to visit A C Moore I need to buy more yarn for my sister scarf her birthday is the 16th and I want 2 colors for the scarf. I am using Patons Classic Wool Merino 100% wool. I have the Petal Pink I want to get a darker pink or white possible off white, maybe all 3 I think all 3 will make a great color combination. The pattern I plan to use is Skinny Minnie from Candi Jensen's pattern book Crochet Scarves! a nice simple SC. I will post a picture when the scarf is complete. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Three days into the new year

Well I hope the first week of the new year is going well for everybody and that going back to work after the holidays has not been to bad. My week started off a little rough but only two more days to go and its the weekend baby. My daughter went back to school today and so the house is very quite and I can see my living room floor once more she comes home with a lot of stuff. I don't know whats wrong with blogger lately but for some reason I cant change the picture of my afghan in my page layout and I can't add a picture of my self and my daughter to the bottom of my page. I finally get a digital camera and now I am having problems uploading my pictures to my layout. If I can add they to my post don't know why I can't add to my lay out and can't find the answer to my question on blogger and I know this is dumb but I can't figure out how to ask about this problem. If I need to re size the pictures I am still lost. Finally did some crochet yesterday made a scarf for my daughter to give for her secret Santa gift to a fellow cheerleader. I don't know why they waited until after Christmas maybe so they could go home and ask their parents for money. Still reading the book Needled to Death by Maggie Sefton it is a very good book and I like mysteries with out the CSI thing just don't think I can handle to many gory details I like to keep it light when I read. I will attempt to post a picture of the scarf I made yesterday the yarn is Cheerio by Moda.Dea 1 ball Onyx and 1 ball Pearl a hdc(half double crochet) it works up very easily and quickly. I think you can find the pattern for the scarf at www.modadea.com it should be a free pattern Crocheted Scarf LM0116 the designed by Judy Hice.

Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!

Well its 2007 and everyone has high hopes for the new year. I am hoping for some things to change in my life and I hope they are for the good. I am tired of struggling when it comes to money I want to have enough money to get the bills paid and go to the grocery store something that has not happened to me in the last 20 years only on certain occasions such as tax refunds and now as I look back on it if I was crazy enough to go to a loan company an borrow money to catch up my bills or pay off a few and I was crazy several times. Well maybe good things will happen not many have in my life. Yes I know I am in a lot better shape than a lot of people because I see it every day and they are in better shape than some. I am thankfull I have a job and a house even if it could use some work, and a car so I can get back and forth to work. I have not crochet in over a week trying to enjoy the time I have to spend with my daughter and the time we spent at the beach to busy looking at the ocean to crochet while at the beach.

2007 Almost

Well here we are the last day of the year only a few hours to go before the new year. I wish I could say that my year had gone better that the year before but it was not any better and yes before anybody gets started I know that my life is better than so many people trust me I do its just that by this age I though I would be better than I am doing at this present time. Started reading my book today so far so good only read a few pages. I have no big plans to bring in the new year just watch TV and drink a little champagne at midnight. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Saturday

Well its Saturday and I am still wishing I was at the beach. I am at home trying not to get depressed about the fact that I have to go to work on Tuesday. Well all good things must come to an end. Well I am sad to say that I have not crocheted since before Christmas I should get back to it soon. The library called today and my inter library loan was in and I went by to pick it up it is the second in a knitting series by Maggie Sefton Needled to Death. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Home again

Well my time at the beach is over and I am at home and I really miss the sound of the waves and looking out over the ocean. It was a good ride back to NC and I am already thinking about going back for my birthday in February. I really wish I could sale my house and move to Myrtle beach. I did look on the Horry County Department of Social Services Web Site but they did not have any food assistance positions(new name for the food stamp program). I don't think the job prospects in Myrtle Beach is any better than they are in NC. If I could sale my house as is and get any money out of it I would and find a job in myrtle beach I would throw caution to the wind and not fear the future and move try and find an ocean front condo or something only a few minute away from the beach I would go everyday to the beach. I have not crocheted since last Thursday just did not have time spent my nights walking the beach, blogging and playing Scrabble with my daughter also UNO I have never understood UNO even as a Young adult when I think we first discovered the game in my neighborhood. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Rainy Christmas Day

Well it rained most of the day today so I did not get to spend a lot of time on the beach. I got to stand on the balcony and look out at the ocean at high tide wow. Seagulls where out not to many people out in the rain. We tried to go see a movie in the downpour but when we got there the movie we wanted to see was not playing. So we came back to the room to eat we have a full kitchen so we cooked today. Tomorrow night crab legs can't with I love crab legs! I did not get to take any pictures today.

Christmas Eve

Okay its Christmas Eve and I have had a great day. I spent some time on the beach this morning. I fed the seagulls and walked along the water side. The sun has been shinning and its not very cold high in the 60's. Love feeding the seagulls I had to go out today and buy some more bread so I can go out in the morning and feed them again. I am getting so slack no no crochet today. A beautiful day on the beach

Wow today has been a great day at the beach the sun came out and we got to walk on the beach and feed the seagulls. I love to feed the seagulls they come out from everywhere when you start feeding them bread. Tonight we are getting out the flash lights and walking. Well it is almost time to go out to eat so maybe I will post more tonight.

I am at the Beach!!!

I am sitting on the couch on the second floor lobby looking at the Christmas trees and listening to it rain. Yes rain and I mean a lot of rain, I hope it clears up and does not rain the whole time we are at the beach. It will be just my luck my only vacation this year and its raining. I love the beach I could wake up every morning looking at the Ocean. If I every win big and I mean real big with the lottery I am buying a Oceanfront Condo. I plan to take a picture of the ocean tomorrow from the beach if it stops raining. If not from the balcony. The ride down was nice an went smoothly did not get lost. I am sure anyone from NC would not believe a person from the Carolina's could get lost going to the beach but we do every time. I have not crocheted today just did not while riding and none so far while here, maybe later tonight.

1 year blogging.

Well 1 year ago I started a blog to talk about crochet and other things. I went a few months out of the year without making an entry. I will try to do better next year. I have finally finished my dish clothes I gave up on the potholders. Two more days to work and on Friday I will be headed to the beach!!!!!! I have to buy bread to feed the Seagulls. I have a project ready to take to the beach a nice ripple afghan and a scarf. I think I want to learn to knit. I have been reading a knitting mystery by Maggie Sefton Knit One, Kill Two in the book a lot of women met each other in a yarn shop slash coffee shop and knit. One of the main characters is trying to solve her Aunt and her aunts cousins murder. I love to read mysteries but I am not good at solving them because I am almost finished with the book and I still don't have a guess on who could be murderer. When I finish this one which is the first in the series I plan to move on to the second I will need to do an inter library loan. Well I hope the Resort we are staying at has Internet access.

It's has been a few days since my last post. I have been working in dishcloths but I still have several to go before I am finished. I have given up on potholders I just can't get then finished in time. I am buying a digital camera this weekend. I have a little extra and I will buy one for myself and my daughter. I brought yarn today Bernat Super Stripes to start a Bernat Super Stripes Zig-Zag Blanket To Crochet I am 1 balls short I did not have the pattern with me an I thought it was 6 balls but turns out I need 7 balls so i will be in search of my last ball. I cleared out all the black & red one of my local Walmarts had so tomorrow I will pay the walmart about 7 miles away has to find my last ball. I think I will make this my project to take to the beach. That's next weekend I can't believe it is finally here a trip to the beach at Christmas! Today was the day I finally got my book in the mail the book I ordered from half.com weeks ago. Sunday

Well things are alittle better I made 3 dishcloths 2 are complete and 1 needs just the edging. Tonight duing Desparater Housewives I will work on another, I think it is time to stop trying to figure out different patterns to use for diffrent people and work up which ever pattern I can get done faster. I have to patterns that work up pretty easy and I plan to use that pattern for the rest of the dishcloths. My daughter has come home tonight to do her laundry classes have ended and exam are this week. It is amazing how fast the first part of the year has past. I hope she it enjoying herself because it seems to me her time in College is passing by quickly. The real world looms. This is just a quick post to let everyone know I have crocheted this weekend. Happy crocheting and knitting.

No Crochet

Well things are not going great no crochet this week and I really need to crochet. I have all those dishcloths to finish. I also tried to start a scarf this week but could not figure out the pattern. It is a ripple scarf and I don't think I will be able to get the pattern I took the book to a woman a work and she is trying to figure out the pattern. While she is working on this I think I will try another pattern from another book. This weekend I will force myself to to work on dishcloths. It has been a long week and I am glad tomorrow is Friday. I had to get the car inspected today and I brought tires for the car today. After Christmas I have to big projects planned the first is the graphic granny afghan and the second Bernat Super Stripes Zig-Zag Blanket, I really like the patten and I love the red & black also like the blue & black so we shall see which color I use first. I think the red & black my daughter's school colors. I have to make a blanket for my daughter but she wants blue and green and I have to find just the right blue and green. I found out today that I am not getting the book Getting Started Crochet that I ordered I have been given a refund by the person on half.com that I ordered the book from. I reordered the book today from someone else because the person I ordered from did not have another book. So my dreams of getting a new crochet book are postponed for at least another two weeks. Oh well nothing to to do but wait. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Long weekend is over back to work tomorrow.

Well it's the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Oh well that's just the way it is when you live the life of a poor woman work, work, and more work. I did not get to shop on black Friday no funds I did however spend 1 hour walking the mall at the 1 am opening. I did find on Saturday the 2007 crochet pattern a day calendar made a trip to Costco and A C Moore. A C Moore had Patons Classic Wool Merino on sale for $3.87 regular price $5.67 I brought some of it to make a scarf for my sister and the rest just because I wanted to build my stash. They also have some beautiful 100% wool on discount for $6.67 that is around $11.00 something per skein regular price maybe they will still have some in a couple of weeks very pretty yarn but not a lot on the skeins and you would need several skeins to make a good scarf. I have not crochet since last Wednesday and I really need to get back to work on the dishcloths and potholders I plan to make for Christmas gifts. I need to move on to the scarf for my sister and I need a nice skull cap for a man for my brother in law and my nephew. I brought yarn to make my nieces scarfs also I plan to make the one skein scarf from Stitch N' bitch the happy hooker it is a quick scarf. I spent most of Friday,Saturday and today raking leaves and this was only the front and the sides of the house I still have the backyard left. Well at least it was a nice warm weekend and I did not have to rake in the cold, I can't say the same for next weekend when I start the back unless it's raining. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Have mercy it is Friday!!!! Thank You

Finally it is Friday. I thought I would scream and bang my head againist the wall of my office before the day came to an end today. I am thankful to have a job but thank you Lord I don't have to go to work tomorrow. We have to much work and to little time. I know I could work overtime but I don't get paid for it I get comp time which means if I want to take a day off I can and I will get paid, but if you take a day off you just get further behind and yes all of us need a day off every now and then but I have vacation time to take care of that and I hardly ever take time off from work. I need money and I wish we got paid for the overtime I could use the money and it would make the extra time at work worth it. December means overtime I am taking extra days for Christmas and I will have to work at least 2 Saturday's so that's what I will do I just hope we are able to get everything done. We need more workers. I really hate the fact that I don't know so many of my client's, when I first started to work at DSS I knew most of my clients and if they called me I did not need to look them up on the computer because I knew something about them now every client I talk too I have to look them up so I can help them it is sad. Thanksgiving is coming next week so this means just 3 days of work next week. No crochet today I did however make it to Hobby Lobby so this means only 2 skeins of yarn left to buy. I need to call Hobby Lobby in Greensboro to find out if they have the Butter color yarn I am looking for my local does not have that color. I have maybe 5 more rows and 1 of the crochet lace shells afghans I am making will be finished, and then I will need to finish the red crochet lace shells afghan I plan to make it a large afghan. My book did not arrive today maybe tomorrow. Happy crocheting and knitting.

It sounds like a road trip to Greensboro they have a Hobby Lobby and I can pay a visit to A C Moore received an email 50% off coupon!! and a craft fair going on Saturday. Still no book today oh well the did say it could take at least 10 days. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Well what can I say?

It is Tuesday night I am tired House is on and I don't know why I am here on this earth. No crochet today not yet anyway and I am not sure I will tonight. I had a long hard day at work and tomorrow I plan to buy a lottery ticket. My plans are to pay a visit to crochetville and then watch TV. I should crochet it is always soothing. I checked the mail when I got home today and still no book I guess it is going to take awhile I really want it to come soon. I already have a project picked out. I might do something that I should not and order the yarn that the designer used online for the pattern I am sure it will be my 2 months allowance for yarn money to get the yarn for the project. We shall see what happens. I might order the yarn for my sisters scarf at the end of November I think I am changing my mind about my scarf I am going to make I am thinking about the Surprise Me Striped Scarf from Hooked Scarves 20 Easy Crochet Projects, by Margaret Hubert the scarf is made from Kureyon by Noro 100% wool 3 skeins it is a self striping yarn and from the picture it makes a very pretty scarf. I am sure it is warm and my sister is very cold natured. We shall see what happens I can't remember the price of the yarn I will have to visit the site again to check the price. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Monday

I had a very long day and then came home and checked the mail no book so I will have to keep waiting. So far not a lot of crochet did just a little at my morning break but could not make myself do any crochet at lunch or my afternoon break. I need a miracle when it comes to my job I am thankful to have my job but I am tired of all the stress. I have to many clients and not enough time. So tonight when I am watching TV I hope to crochet most of the time I find it makes me feel better to crochet. Happy crocheting and knitting.

Another Crochet Lace Shells Afghan

I started another crochet lace shells afghan last night while I was watching TV instead of being good and finish up the 4 dishcloths that I have going at the moment. I am using the TLC Baby yarn that I brought on clearance at Hobby Lobby it is a sport weight 3 ply 64% Acrylic 36% Nylon I have 4 skeins and it might take all 4 to make a nice size afghan. It is a just because afghan and I am trying to build up items to try and sale at a craft fair if I can find one near me next fall may the fall festival in my daughters homecoming does not fall on the same weekend next year. I need to make sure it is okay to sale it was a free pattern so I guess it's okay, I don't want to do something that is illegal. There was a big talk on this about 2 months back at Crochetville they always keep up with all the important this on copyright laws. So I will go to Crochetville and check it out. I checked my email today and guess what another 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby this week, I really think they are trying to keep up with AC Moore because you did not get a 40% coupon from Hobby Lobby but once a month. AC Moore has one weekly. If wish I did not live so far away from AC Moore 30 miles and so I can't visit the store daily and get good use out of the coupon. I will visit this weekend coming up to get a skein of Patons Classic Merino Wool for the one skein scarf in the Happy Hooker crochet book. Planning a scarf for my sister for Christmas. Also planning to make scarf for my nieces and nephew. I think I am waiting to late for all the grand plans especially since I cant seem to get finished with the dishcloths and potholder for the family. Another long work week ahead and I know already it will be just as bad as the last one because the cases that need to be processed is very heavy next week, and it would be nice to come home on Monday to my new book I ordered last Getting Started Crochet by Judith L Swartz it is a great book looked through it at the library and decided to buy got a good deal on half.com already received a confirmation that the book was in the mail on Tuesday. So maybe tomorrow. Happy Crocheting and Knitting.

I need to win the lottery

I really wish I could win the lottery. Of course you have to buy tickets to win and I don't buy them that often, no money not even a dollar. I only got the chance to buy 4 skeins of the TLC I am trying to get ran out of funds so I will have to wait until the next 40% off coupon and hope I have the money for the rest of my yarn. It is sad but true I can't afford to have a hobby. I feel like such a loser. Well enough of the pity party. I spent some time last night crocheting not much time but I did get a few rows done. Really can't seem to get in the mood to crochet or do anything these days. Well I have not spent anytime working on the dishcloths either I am such a bad person. I am running out of time to get the dishcloths and potholders done. Well happy crocheting and knitting.

Working on my plan

Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon this week it is a 40% off one regular price item. I started my plan on Monday to buy the yarn for the graphic granny afghan from the first issue of Crochet today! so far I have 2254 Persimmon, 2820 Robbin Egg, and 2919 Barn Red on hold and waiting for me to buy tomorrow is 2533 Dark Plum it was the last skein and the saleswoman found it behind another color she told me they did not plan to carry that color anymore so that was good luck. Hobby Lobby is on my way home from work so I am not wasting gas to go by everyday the regular price of the yarn is $2.97 and I paid with tax $1.90. So I know what my first project will be after Christmas it will take that long to complete my plan and have time to work on the afghan. Maybe while I am at the beach I plan to take my crochet. When I work on this project it will be the first time I have made an afghan that you have to stitch together, I have made a practice hexagon and it is easy and I think the hexagon's will work up quickly the stitching together is a different story we shall see what happens. Happy crocheting and knitting.
